The Challenge
In 2016, the University of Portsmouth, a gold-rated university with around 25,000 students on its vibrant campus, were looking to renew its facilities. Despite its excellent facilities and ongoing investments, the university grappled with challenges from its existing vending company. These challenges revolved around issues of reliability, menu monotony, and a notable absence of health-conscious options. Recognising the need for a solution that aligned with their innovative spirit, the Head of Catering Services, Nick Leach, sought a partner that shared their progressive ethos. This quest led them to the discovery of Doozy.
Our Solution
During the initial meeting, Nick Leach identified the potential for Doozy to not only significantly boost revenues but also deliver a superior, healthier service for the students. Seizing the opportunity, we initiated a trial during the university’s summer break in 2016, installing Doozy machines in two key locations. The success of this trial spoke volumes, prompting the University of Portsmouth to put its entire vending options, encompassing over 25 machines across more than 10 locations, up for tender in 2017. The outstanding results of our trial led to the awarding of the contract, cementing Doozy’s position as the preferred vending partner for this esteemed institution.
